What is it?
Mastering is probably the least understood and most overlooked part of the recording process. Mastering is the final step between the recording studio and CD duplication or MP3 for the internet. Mastering can optimize your tracks level, and E.Q., as well as enhances the overall sound of your recording. Mastering can make your mixes come to life, giving them clarity, power, depth and punch.
Mastering is both a creative and technical process. It requires a great deal of skill and years of experience to be done correctly. It also requires the right gear. We use a combination of analog tape and some of the best digital converters, compressors/limiters and E.Q.'s available. This combination of analog tape and digital technology gives you both the warmth and clarity of a great sounding master you can be proud of.

Sometimes it is almost nothing. Other times E.Q. is applied to enhance the mix and make it sound better. Multi-band compression, and/or limiting is also added to bring up the overall dynamics of your songs. Fade ins, fade outs, and the spacing between your songs is also determined. In some cases clicks, pops and distortion can be removed to make your mix sound clean.
We can also brings a fresh perspective to the project, helping to ensure that everything is the best it can be. Determining what needs to be done to give the CD a smooth, seamless flow from the first song to the last.
